Ricky Grace appointed Ambassador for Children and Young People
Girls Academy CEO and Founder Ricky Grace has been appointed an Ambassador for Children and Young People and attended a major roundtable meeting on the subject of ‘Taking action on vulnerability’ on Friday.
The Commissioner for Children and Young People WA Colin Pettit delivered a presentation prior to a discussion facilitated by former WA Premier Professor Carmen Lawrence.
The roundtable included Members of WA Parliament, representatives from the Education Department, the head of the Western Australian Mental Health Commission, Department of Justice representatives, WA Department of Health staff, academics, Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA), WACOSS and many more.
“Drawing on more than 14 years of experience as CEO of Role Models and Leaders Australia, it was an honour to be a part of such an important conversation alongside so many amazing, talented people all keen to see better outcomes for our young people,” said Mr Grace.
The Ambassadors for Children and Young People project involves eminent Western Australians who have a significant role in the community and a strong commitment to supporting children and young people and their families.
There are now 14 Ambassadors who work with the Commissioner for Children and Young People to increase community understanding of the factors that impact on the wellbeing of children and young people.
